Situated by the medieval church and its idyllic surroundings, the old granary can tell us many stories from the region’s past. Inside the granary that was built in the early 19th century, the visitor is whisked back to a time before the birth of the city of Vantaa and the advent of industrial production.

The Parish Museum houses items collected from the neighborhood. They tell us about local everyday life, agriculture and other rural professions. A peasant’s living quarters and a little school room have been furnished downstairs.

Upstairs you can see a collection of items related to rural professions. Here you can learn – or guess – what old agricultural equipment looks like. Tools from the past stand as testimony of not only old working methods but skilled craftsmanship as well.

The historic village environment has been preserved in parts of the area. In the vicinity of the museum, the Kahvitupa Laurentius café invites you to extend your stay in a cozy atmosphere.
