The Foundry Museum, along with Högfors Blast Furnace and Karkkila Högfors Workers’ Museum, constitute Karkkila Ironworks Museum Senkka, a museum specialising in the history of the foundry industry.
The Foundry Museum introduces the different stages in the history of the foundry industry, and in particular the changes in the techniques which have been used. The permanent exhibit contains tools, machinery and devices from around twenty foundries in Finland. One can also learn about the raw materials used by the foundry, how moulds were made by hand and machine and how cast iron was processed.
The museum also contains a space for temporary exhibitions, Galleri Bremer, and an interesting collection of old foundry products from Högfors Ironworks.
