Sinebrychoff Art Museum, located along Bulevardi Street, contains old European art as well as Paul and Fanny Sinebrychoff’s restored home. The museum exhibits works of old masters from the 14th to the mid-19th century.
Paul Sinebrychoff the younger (1859−1917) was the last male heir by the name of Sinebrychoff of the family. During decades, he and his wife Fanny Sinebrychoff amassed a significant art collection that was passed over to the Finnish state as a bequest.
The couple’s life’s work can be enjoyed in beautiful rooms where works of art, antique furniture and chandeliers create a unique surrounding to enjoy art. The largest of the rooms has been furnished in the decorative Empire style. And in the Gustavian saloon the visitor can get acquainted with the Swedish portrait painting of the 18th century.
The museum has changing exhibitions, concerts and workshops for children and adults. Museum café is located in a separate building on the eastern end of the Museum complex.
