The Polytechnical Students’ Museum in Espoo’s Otaniemi showcases the funniest and cleverest moments provided by polytechnic students. The museum highlights the students of the Helsinki University of Technology, presenting polytechnic symbols, life and activities – not to mention the most legendary tricks pulled by the polytechnic students.

The exhibition presents the tell-tale signs of a polytechnic student: tasselled caps, various honorary batches and the ceremonial rank identifications. The vast variety of clothing and batches are all connected by the familiar tasselled cap, which dates back to 1893!

The museum also depicts the active polytechnic community in sports, associations, choirs and orchestras. There are also literature, music, stories, films and photographic material conveying the story of the life of a polytechnic student. One of the key components of the museum is the annual, ever-evolving publications Äpy and Julkku.
