Located in the centre of Helsinki, the Amos Anderson Art Museum exhibits high-quality temporary exhibitions as well as a permanent collection. The museum exhibits both traditional as well as contemporary domestic and international art. The museum also highlights young artists and modern phenomena.
Amos Anderson (1878–1961) was a successful businessman in graphic design and a generous patron of the arts. The museum is housed in Amos Anderson’s private home, which was constructed in 1913 and also functioned as the headquarters of Anderson’s business operations.
Visitors of the museum may also have a peek at two rooms with original interiors retained from the early 20th century. The museum also includes older artwork housed in a private chapel, as well as post-impressionistic paintings from Sigurd Frosterus’ collection.
The museum’s cosy café and boutique are located on the ground floor.
