In the idyllic landscape of Lake Tuusula is the home of Aino and Jean Sibelius, where several masterpieces of the composer were born. In 1904, the couple moved to the house designed by Lars Sonck. The authentic home museum presents to the visitor Jean Sibelius the composer and Aino Sibelius as the lynchpin of the family’s everyday life.

The Sibelius family sought peace for composing in Järvenpää. Aino’s sense of beauty, combined with her vigour, shines through in the decor of the comfortable home and the splendour of the restored garden.

Jean Sibelius lived in Ainola until his death in 1957. Time in the composer’s home has stopped in this decade when the couple made the last acquisitions to their comfortable home. The present visitor can also feel the warmth still lingering around in the house after decades of living.
