Travel through time to learn about life at an old Espoo farm and inn! Step inside the house that also accommodated travellers, by Johan and Aurora Lönnberg’s baking oven. The buildings around the courtyard and many old exhibits tell tales of life in the village of Karvasmäki in the late 19th century.
Climb up to the loft of the stables, check out the magic signs engraved into the balcony access outbuilding for protection against evil forces, and visit Adeline Nordberg’s shop. Agrarian Espoo is presented through 11 buildings on the Glims farm, the oldest of which date back to the 18th century.
Guided tours and many work demonstrations and events related to the annual cycle of farm life enliven the museum experience. In the summer, there is a vegetable patch in the courtyard, and a flock of hens may flash by. In wintertime, you just might spot an elf!
Glims features a museum shop and an intimate café in a former henhouse.
