Visitors can immerse themselves in the historical events surrounding the fortress and the lives of people who lived and worked on Suomenlinna via touch-screen operated picture books. The exhibition features one of the oldest surviving Finnish boats, a 6.5 metre-long boat made in the mid-18th century.

In addition, every half an hour, the museum screens a widescreen show, The Suomenlinna Experience, which takes the viewer on a journey through the fascinating history of the fortress.

Audio commentary is available through headphones in Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Japanese.

The museum is open throughout the year.
