Come on in, the clock is ticking! The permanent exhibition of the Finnish Museum of Horology showcases the evolution of clocks, watches and time measuring. The exhibition with its tower clocks and wrist computers allows visitors to delve into the multi-dimensional world of clocks. The museum showcases clocks and other time measuring devices from five centuries.
The exhibition is focused on Finnish clock and watchmaking skills. The collection includes both familiar timepieces as well some unique items. The museum also includes a reconstruction of an old clock shop with special tools required in the precise work of a clock smith. Furthermore, the exhibition encourages the visitors to think about the transition from sun dials to atomic time.
In the Museum of Horology, visitors can learn the history of time measuring in an exact and timely manner. The temporary special exhibitions and mini-expos highlight interesting and current topics from horology.
