The historical environment of the Hyvinkää railway station showcases steam trains, a historical station building and the only remaining Russian imperial train in the world. The Finnish Railway Museum exhibition tells the story of the creation and development of the Finnish railway network, rail traffic management and various professions of the industry going back 150 years.
The buildings of the former depot area of the Hanko–Hyvinkää railway line date back to the 1870s. The historical engine shed houses the trusty old steam trains and a repair shop. The old station building provides a view of the historical station office or the waiting room. There are also model trains, railway worker uniforms and a narrow gauge train for children and those who are young at heart.
The special national railway museum showcases an extensive collection of photographic material, blueprint archives and a reference library. The museum also offers temporary special exhibitions and memorable museum tours for visitors of all ages.
