Take a trip down memory lane into the history of Helsinki’s trams! The old tram workshop in Töölö is home to the Korjaamo Culture Factory and the Tram Museum that presents the history of the city’s tram service, dating back to 1890.

In addition to the actual trams, the museum focuses on the experience of traveling and working on a tram, which is why many of the museum’s trams are accessible to visitors. The old tram workshop includes a horse-drawn tram as well as the more recent electric trams. The exhibition also includes the open tram, which was particularly popular during the summer period. The tram last operated during the Helsinki Olympics in 1952.

The old lining stones, as well as the driver and conductor uniforms guide the passenger to the Helsinki of times past. The exhibition also includes inspiring old photographs, film clips and a stamping machine, which visitors can use to mark their tickets.
