The Finnish Museum of Natural History begins its adventure into the Finnish nature by plunging through the surface of the Baltic Sea and continuing through the seasons all the way to the frost-ridden arctic hills. The history of life travels through time to the past with the dinosaurs. Other exhibitions delve into the diversity of the world’s nature shaped through evolution as well as the oddities of bones.
The atmospheric museum representing the Russian Baroque Revival is located in the Kamppi district in the heart of Helsinki. In addition to four permanent exhibitions, the museum has a hall for changing exhibitions.
The secrets of the exciting exhibitions open up in a totally different way on guided tours that come in more than ten different types. The museum also has a coffee shop and a small museum shop.
The Natural History Museum is part of the Finnish Museum of Natural History that also maintains the Mineral Cabinet and the two Botanical Gardens of the University of Helsinki in Kaisaniemi and Kumpula open to the general public.
