Room for Love

Four very different museums will join forces to proclaim the message of love in the 100th anniversary year of Finnish independence. Instead of detailing the history of our country’s wars, the museums will instead concentrate on the history of love through their various specialities – a history with which all generations can identify in one way or another.
The Hotel and Restaurant Museum will host an exhibition about love in restaurants – be it love for another person or just for food! The Lotta Museum will explore the relationship between love and duty. The Theatre Museum will highlight well-known plays about love and ponders what makes them so compelling and enduring. The Vantaa City Museum will host an exhibition about falling in love, being in love and falling out of love. Four exhibitions will be opened at 14.2.2017.
“Room for Love” is a concept consisting of exhibitions, a joint publication and joint events.
